A musical by Julian Bain and Chris Stevens

It is the year 1665 and the Plague is ravaging London Towne.

And from the disease, death and corruption rises a bawdy musical comedy! With rats, dancing corpses, an evil Lord Mayor, his nymphomaniac lesbian maid, Samuel Pepys' prodigious limb and a really, really big fire.

Catchy! is set in London 1665 and tells the story of Gwen, her brother Tom, and their Uncle Enry who try to scrape a living collecting the bodies of plague victims...and selling veg from their stall in Smithfield Market. Everything was going well until Tom fell in love with Beth, the beautiful daughter of the Lord Mayor of London.

What is the Lord Mayor's evil plot? Why do zombies walk the streets of London? Is there anyone left who hasn't slept with Maud the maid?

The spirit of 'Carry On' films and 'Oliver!' collide in this rude, fast paced and down right silly musical.

Can Tom and Beth's love cross the class boundaries, survive the plague and a Lord Mayor hell bent on burning down Olde London Towne just to give his friend Samuel Pepys something to write about in his diary...and was that Beth who was just sneezing?

The cult musical was conceived by Julian Bain & Chris Stevens in 2000. Songs from the show were performed over the following years with scenes staged at the Cockpit Theatre in 2004 leading to a full performance in 2005. The show went on to become an Edinburgh Festival Fringe Sell Out show at the Bedlam Theatre and has been a sell out show at the 2008 Brighton Festival where it was performed at the Brighthelm Centre
