 | Josh Boyd-Rochford(Tom) : Josh Boyd-Rochford spent seven years as a singer with ENO. He trained at Bristol University and Mountview Academy. Roles in theatre include 'My Fair Lady', 'Fiddler on the Roof', 'Cabaret', 'Godspell', 'Rags', 'A Midsummer Nights Dream', and 'Road'. He was a featured soloist in 'The West End Show' regional tour and has recorded for Radio 4. Josh has recently appeared in several short films and the upcoming feature Hippie Hippie Shake. |
| Alice Penny(Beth) : Alice graduated from Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in September last year where roles included Low-dive Jenny in Brecht's 'Threepenny Opera', Anita in 'West Side Story', Yelena in 'Uncle Vanya' and the cheeky Miss Prosperpine Garnett in 'Candida'. Alice has recently been working on various film projects. |
| Pip Swallow(Gwen): Pip trained at ALRA then performed as Jasmine in 'Aladdin' before burning books as Hedda Gabler. She was Maria in an LA production of 'Twelfth Night' and is thoroughly thrilled to have escaped being an actor in the age when Catchy! was set. She realises that as a woman she probably wouldn't have been cast at all and that even if her mother had gone through the traumatic unsanitary labour she would have probably gotten TB and died. It is with these things in mind that Pip is proud to be making her Brighton debut. |
| Rhys Alexander(Uncle Enry): Rhys Alexander graduated from Drama Studio London in 2007. He has been in a short film on Blue Peter as part of the 'Me and My Movie Competition'; 'Hey Jack!', a new Opera about the assassination of JFK, playing crime lord Carlos Marcello and was the lead as Silly Billy in 'Frosty The Snowman' this Christmas. He is about to do a tour of 'The Tempest' and 'King Arthur and the Knights of The Round Table' with Chapterhouse Theatre. |
| Graham Morris-Almond(Samuel Pepys): Graham is overjoyed to finally be working in Brighton having spent many a lost weekend here and to be portraying such a historically significant (and prodigiously limbed) figure. Recent work includes the multimedia 'Texas Chainsaw Travelling Horror Picture Show' at Kentish Town Forum and playing a Western surveyor in 'Trail of the Spider' for Tate Modern/ICA. |

Recent credits include Gwendolen in 'The Importance of Being Earnest' and Mariana in 'Measure for Measure' in repertory at the New Players Theatre, Herodias in 'Salome' (Pentameters) and Lady Capulet in Cameron Jack's 'Romeo and Juliet' (Catford Broadway). Also Hermia (Plymouth Rep), Ginnie in a National tour of Ian Dicken's 'Outside Edge', Lady Macbeth (Stukeley Street Rep), Kate in Roger Redfarn's 'Oklahoma!', Titania (Stukeley Street Rep). | Jurgen Schwarz(The Git / Gravedigger / Ensemble) : Jurgen started acting in a repertory open air theatre in Germany. The range of plays were from musicals to Shakespeare and children's plays, the parts would be from comedy to drama and fairy tale characters. Since Jurgen took up acting again professionally, after a stint in the corporate world, he was mostly cast as villain or bad boy. Up to now he did mainly film work in the UK but is now also going back to theatre and musical theatre. |
| Miranda Colmans(Hob Gelding / Nell / Barmaid / Ensemble) : Miranda trained at The Bridge Theatre Training Company where her credits included Helena in 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' & Mary Magdalen in 'The Mystery Plays'. Since then she has played Jack in 'Jack and the Beanstalk' (Partytime Productions) and Fairy Dredd in 'Sleeping Beauty' (Bitesize Theatre Company). TV credits include 'Angel Cake' (BBC) & 'Derren Brown's Trick or Treat' (Objective Productions). Filming includes 'Sweeney Todd' (Tim Burton), 'The Madness of the Dance' (Carol Morley) and Natasha in 'Obsolete' (Shashi Soorambail). |
| Julian Bain (The Lord Mayor / Director / Book / Lyrics / Music / Producer) : Julian wrote and performed
his first musical at the age of 8 and by 10 was running his own comic book publishing company.
As co-founder of Total Beast, he acts, writes and produces. He also designed this
website and Catchy publicity. Julian has been described as the bastard son of Peter Cook, Doctor Who
and Ronnie Hazlehurst. |
The cult musical was conceived by Julian Bain & Chris Stevens in 2000. Songs from the show were performed over the following years with scenes staged at the Cockpit Theatre in 2004 leading to a full performance in 2005. The show went on to become an Edinburgh Festival Fringe Sell Out show at the
Bedlam Theatre and has been a sell out show at the 2008 Brighton Festival where it was performed at the Brighthelm Centre
